This event will take place between September 5 and 8, 2022, in the Assembly Hall of the San Ildefonso College of the University of Alcalá with the participation of researchers and professionals from Spain, Portugal and other European countries.
The Conferences are organized by the Specialized Photochemistry Group (GRUFO) of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) and the Photochemistry Group of the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ) and are based on the tradition of previous meetings (Santiago de Compostela in 2003, Faro in 2007, Granada in 2011, Lisbon in 2014, Toledo in 2016 and Aveiro in 2018), which aimed to bring together the Portuguese and Spanish Photochemical communities.
During its sessions, advances in the areas of fundamental and applied photochemistry and related sciences will be addressed. The meeting will be of interest to all those involved in the use of light to initiate and study chemical, physical and biological processes.
This new edition, which should have been held in 2020 and which the pandemic has delayed until this year, has once again been a success in participation with more than 100 attendees from Spain, Portugal, France, Germany and Austria.
Present at the opening ceremony were Dr. D. Javier de la Mata de la Mata, Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University and Vice Chancellor for Research and Transfer of the University of Alcalá and Dr. D. Luis Manuel Frutos Gaite, recent professor of the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of the University of Alcalá and president of the Organizing Committee.
The Conference will end on September 8 with a Photochemistry Training School for young researchers.
